Questions
Structural steel FAQ
What certification should I ask about?
For welded structures built to CSA S16, the fabricator must be CWB certified in Division 1 or 2. Ask which division applies to the proposed work.
What should I send for a mezzanine?
Send the floor size, the height you need and what it will carry. Ask who supplies the engineered drawings and whether stairs and railings are included.
What should the quote include?
Ask the shop to separate fabrication, coating, delivery and installation. Confirm who supplies the engineered drawings and who checks the site measurements.
