Questions

Polishing FAQ

What is a #4 finish?

A brushed stainless finish with fine, even grain lines, common on kitchen and food service equipment. ASA Alloys in Winnipeg polishes to 180 grit or a #4 finish.

What is electropolishing?

An electrochemical process that smooths the surface and helps stainless resist corrosion. Medical, food and aerospace parts often call for it. Ask for the surface roughness, or Ra, you need.

What photos help with a quote?

Show the whole piece, its size and close-ups of scratches, corrosion or old coatings. Include the metal and quantity.
