Viewpoint Decking lists a $350 flat rate for a railing gate up to 42 inches wide. Ask for a separate quote for a driveway or garden gate.
Usually when a rear fence is higher than 2 m, a front fence higher than 1.2 m, or a gate higher than 2.5 m. Designs outside the land use bylaw need planning approval.
Check with your town. Airdrie, Cochrane, Okotoks, Chestermere and the counties have their own rules.
