Questions

Tool and die FAQ

What should I send for an injection mould quote?

Send part drawings, models, material specifications and production volumes. Include the press limits and any existing tool details.

Who owns the tool?

Ask for ownership, storage, maintenance and transfer terms in writing before ordering. Confirm what happens if you move production.

Can I start with a prototype tool?

Ask whether a prototype tool fits your material and production plan. Have the shop explain how it differs from the production tool.

Good to know

  • Give your expected production volume and the machine the tool will run on.
