Viewpoint Decking lists welded aluminum picket railing at $55 per linear foot installed, and glass panels in a welded aluminum frame at $70.
An uncovered deck higher than 0.6 m above grade at any point needs one. A covered deck needs one too. An uncovered deck at 0.6 m or lower everywhere does not.
For a deck surface under 1.8 m above adjacent ground, at least 0.9 m. At 1.8 m or more, at least 1.07 m. The largest opening is 100 mm.
