A London Renovation Experts guide lists installed aluminum railing at $60 to $90 per linear foot and cable railing at $90 to $150. These are guide prices. Ask for a quote for your layout.
In London, side and rear decks below 600 mm need a building permit only if attached to the house. Decks must stay at least 1.2 metres from the property line. Ask the City about higher decks.
Under the Ontario Building Code, at least 900 mm on decks up to 1.8 m above the ground, and 1,070 mm above that. Gaps under 100 mm.
St. Thomas, Stratford and the townships set their own rules. Check with your town or township before ordering.
