Questions
Tool and die FAQ
What should I send for a tooling quote?
Send part drawings, material specifications, production volumes and press or machine limits. For an existing tool, include photos and explain what needs changing.
Can I ask about a prototype tool?
Yes. Ask whether a prototype tool would suit your trial quantities before ordering production tooling. Include the part material and the results you need from the trial.
Who owns the tool?
Ask who owns it once paid, where it stays and how you can move it. Confirm who pays for maintenance and repairs.
Good to know
Give the expected production volume and the date the tool needs to be running.
