Questions

Anodizing and plating FAQ

Can I get one piece of hardware plated?

Often yes. Victoria Plating in the Bronx says no job is too small. Ask about a lot charge before you send the part.

How long have platers worked here?

Some for a century. Epner Technology in Brooklyn was founded in 1910 as a jewelry plater. Vernon Plating Works has been in Woodside since 1962.

What should I tell a plater?

The base metal, the finish you want and any spec number. Photos of the part help.

Good to know

  • Old pieces may need stripping and polishing before plating. Ask if that is in the price.
  • Ask for a sample finish before a big order.
